This paper analyzes the effect on land values of a new BRT-esque service (“Primo”) in San Antonio, TX. The paper summarizes the literature on changes in land values due to mass transit investments, before discussing its own analysis of the effect of this new transit line in San Antonio. To measure the effect, I used Python, Excel, and QGIS to clean assessment data from a county assessor’s office, to visualize the data, and to analyze it. The paper won third place in the APA Transportation Planning Division’s student paper competition.
